Cross the Panama Canal Aboard S/V Bahati

On Wednesday, April 18 the stalwart crew of the majestic Bahati began an epic voyage across the world’s greatest feat of human engineering ??” the Panama Canal (I know… drama, huh?).
The Panama Canal transfers ships from one ocean to another through a system of locks. A boat entering at the Atlantic side has to be lifted 85 feet in three steps to the level of Gatun Lake. After crossing 31 miles of the lake, the boat drops 31 feet in one step at Pedro …

A big welcome to over 200 of our stalwarts who have signed-on to the Ship’s Log now! We are thrilled that so many supporters and virtual sailors are out there riding along with us as we head further south into the Caribbean Islands and begin our passage to the Panama Canal and beyond! Bahati Arrives in Antigua

Dear Family, Friends, and all BAHATI virtual crew members! Merry Christmas from the Islands! It’s hard to believe that the holidays antiguahave finally arrived from where we are sitting. We are now in Antigua having finally made our passage further South, via St Barts, departing St Maarten after completing all of our tasks including making repairs, receiving FedEx shipments, and making doctors and dentists visits. Its good to be here.
